Create free Twin NFTs for your physical products in 5 minutes with 3 easy steps.
Visit app.twinu.com and create your Twinu account.
Personalize your profile by clicking on your account image and then "Profile settings".
Click on "Create" and then "Twin".
Describe your product: By selecting a "type", you will be suggested "smart properties" for this product type. Using these makes your products "smarter" and you can ask about these properties using our Alexa Skill.
A new collection will be created with the new Twin which can be edited afterwards.
You just added a Twin to your product! Currently, it is visible only to you. You can edit or delete it anytime.
We also offer a batch import feature (e.g. via csv files). Contact us if interested.
Click on "Create" and then "Twin".
Select the "import" option and click "Next".
Now you can upload the file containing your Amazon orders. It is usually named "Retail.OrderHistory.csv". For more information on how you can obtain your order history from Amazon, check here.
Now you can select which products you would like to import as Twins. When done selecting, click on "Import".
A new collection will be created with all the selected products!
You just imported Twins of your products! Currently, they are visible only to you. You can edit or delete them anytime. Mint your Twins as NFTs to make them visible!
In order to make the Twin visible or transfer it to others you have to mint it on the blockchain. With Twinu you don't pay gas fees.
To mint simply click on "Mint NFT" and add the wallet to get the NFT. If you are connected with your wallet and mint into your own wallet, you will still be able to make changes to your Twin NFT after minting. If you mint into a different wallet than the one that is connected, the Twin NFT is no longer editable for you.
Your products now have a...
+ virtual representation on NFT marketplaces and blockchain applications.
+ secure and transferable proof of ownership.
+ lifetime digital product passport helping you or future owners to find what they need around the product: brand information, manuals, smart features etc.
+ machine-readable digital representation: Twinu's Alexa skill allows you to ask questions about their products.
You can use our Alexa Skill (german version coming soon) to ask questions about your products like their model, description, purchase date, etc.
To start, enable the "My Twin" skill on your Alexa account or device. By default, the skill has access to all public Twin NFTs on the twinu platform. You can test by asking "Alexa, start My Twin and look for jacket" which will return a list of all Twins matching the term "jacket". You can then ask to see one of them.
You can then ask: "Alexa, what is its {{property}}" to ask for the property value of that Twin.
If you want the skill to only search across twins owned by your wallet, you need to add the wallet you want to use on your profile. Make sure that the e-mail on your twinu account matches the email used on your alexa account. If these conditions are met, you can activate the filter by asking: "Alexa, start my twin and set filter to e-mail". If you want to clear the filter, just ask "Alexa, start my twin and clear filter".
You don't have to but you can physically link your product to it's Twin NFT via a tag.
Every Twin NFT comes with three types of links, we recommend using the Twin NFT's link on app.twinu.com which is optimized for physical products:
1. Twin NFT link on app.twinu.com (recommended).
2. NFT link on other NFT-marketplaces (Opensea, Looksrare, etc).
3. Token address on ethereum/polygon scan website.
Attach the link to your physical product:
1. Create a QR code of the link, for example with QR-Generator.
2. Write the link into an NFC Chip, for example with the app "NFC Tools".
We can create one-time-use claimable links of your products, contact us if interested.
Keep your Twin updated with its physical item! Use our IFTTT integration to connect devices like your dishwasher, coffeemaker or cleaning robot to automatically update their Twins every time they are used!
To connect your Twin with your physical product, start by adding a "TwinAgentKey" property on the Twin you want to update. If you don't have a Twin yet, you can use the guide above to create it!
To add a property, click on "Edit" on the Twin detail page. You must be connected with the wallet owning the Twin to be able to see the option.
Now you need to add the "TwinAgentKey" property. The value of this property is an encrypted phrase that allows IFTTT to make limited changes to your Twin. This Key is generated by signing any phrase with your wallet. To sign a phrase, you can use this service. You can choose any phrase you want, for this example we will use "IFTTT-agent-key".
Once the phrase is generated, you can add it as a property named "TwinAgentKey" at the Twin.
You must store the signed phrase, NOT the phrase itself. This makes sure that no-one can see or use the phrase, so only service you allow can make changes to your Twin!
Now, head to IFTTT and choose the trigger you want to update your Twin. IFTTT has a long list of connected devices, such as Roomba, iRobot, Phillip Hue, Siemens washing machine, Alexa, etc. You can check each of their triggers to link to your Twin.
For this example, we will use a dishwasher trigger. You can also use our pre-made applets.
Let's add the twinu action to update your Twin. You need the ID of your Twin. You can find the ID of your Twin by checking the URL.
For this example, we will use a dishwasher trigger.
Fill the phrase you used on the previous steps when setting up the "TwinAgentKey" and finally choose which property you want to update each time the trigger is activated.
Congratulations! Your Twin now will keep count each time the dishwasher runs!
